Project Overview — Custom Cortizo Doors & Balustrade, Lancashire

For this striking residential refurbishment in scenic West Lancashire, we were commissioned to deliver a fully bespoke glazing package centred on premium Cortizo sliding doors and a custom glass balustrade solution. The goal was simple in theory — open up the rear elevation, maximise panoramic views across the countryside, and seamlessly connect interior and exterior spaces — but achieve it with precision craftsmanship and a contemporary architectural language.

At the heart of the design is a suite of ultra-slim Cortizo sliding patio doors spanning two elevations. These high-performance aluminium systems flood the interior with natural light and create uninterrupted visual connections between living spaces and the landscape beyond. Each frame was finished in a crisp RAL 9005 matt black, giving a modern, sculptural edge that complements the client’s refined interior aesthetic.

The installation features an integrated sub-drainage and flush threshold solution — a detail that not only enhances the minimalist aesthetic but also improves accessibility, removing visual and physical barriers between inside and out. This precision engineering creates a true sense of flow, from lounge to terrace and garden beyond.

To maximise comfort without compromising views, we then collaborated closely with the client’s builder to design and install a frameless glass wind protector for the sunken seating area. Glazed with toughened, polished-edge panels and set within a concealed aluminium channel system, this wind-breaker is both elegantly discreet and highly effective — offering shelter without interrupting the clean sightlines across the garden.

Together, these elements transform the home’s rear façade into a contemporary composition of light, space and transparency — combining Cortizo’s cutting-edge door technology with bespoke glazing engineering for a solution that’s as beautiful as it is functional.
